There have been many versions of the email newsletters I've sent out over the years. Currently the push is to get shorter, mobile friendly emails out the door on a more regular basis. We still use some longer format emails for long-time supporters who want more in depth information but are moving towards more segmented lists and a better email marketing funnel to really reach out to donors and supporters at the right time with the right content.
Email is sent via VerticalResponse, Constant Contact or MailChimp denending on the client's platform.
